 Job Descriptions

The primary aim of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) Bursary for South Africans is to help disadvantaged students who have outstanding academic merit would like to study. The bursary only chooses these fields of study for the eligible students:

  • Finance (Corporate and Investment Finance)
  • Listed Investments (JSE Listed Companies)
  • Unlisted Investments (Asset Management (Properties), Structured Investments Products, Private Equity and Impact Investing)
  • Human Resources
  • Legal
  • Research and Projects Development (Fund of Funds)
  • Information Technology
  • Bursary recipients will have the opportunity to take part in vacation work, as well as an Internship/ Learnership programme, during the holidays.

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria for the applicants of Public Investment Corporation (PIC) Bursary for South Africans who want to submit their applications. They are as follow:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
  • Good academic record
  • Studying or intend on studying towards a full-time qualification in one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Currently unemployed
  • Proven financial need – total household income of no more than R600 000 per year
  • Preference will be given to students under 35 years of age, and those currently in Matric/ those currently registered to study towards an undergraduate (NQF 6 and 7) qualification at a recognised South African Institute of Higher Learning

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Grade 11 year end results and Matric mid year results, if currently in Matric (certified copies)
  • Matric Certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
  • Full academic transcripts, if currently studying at a tertiary institution (certified copy)
  • Acceptance letter/ preliminary acceptance from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Proof of household monthly income and dependants
  • Proof of disability, if applicable (medical certificate)
  • Signed student loan agreement, if applicable
  • Tax invoice or pro-forma invoice from the tertiary institute, stating fees payable (including tuition, prescribed books, accommodation and meals)
